Vacation Bible School
June 26-30 2017
for 3 Yr olds*-incoming 5th graders
(* must be potty trained)
Registrations are now open for this year's camp. Last year saw a growth from 271 to over 340 campers and we ran out of room for additional campers and had to close registration. Don't get left out after the drawbridge is raised!
Registration Forms are available by downloading the form to the left or stopping by the parish offices.
Register and pay by May 15th and receive a FREE music CD/DVD (one per family) and be guarenteed to a FREE t-shirt. After the 15th no guarentee that t-shirts will be available and a $5 late fee per family will be added. Please not that if payment for camp is not received by June 9 we will not hold your child's place at camp if there is a waiting list. Last year after turning away a number of late registrations only to discover after camp began that a number of people turned in registration forms but never sent their child.
We use the VBS materials from Ligouri Press. This year's theme will be Mighty Fortress. Last year camp numbers skyrocketed to over 270 campers! Each day includes an assembly where the campers watch a skit introducing the theme of the day and stops at a variety of stations where that theme is developed: Bible story, crafts, music, recreation, snack and more. Small groups of the campers (8-12 youth) travel with their middle school guides to the various stations for age group activities (preschool-Kinder, primary and intermediate).
lead the various 20 minute stations. The leaders' guide provide all the support needed to lead the session. Each station is repeated as the other 6 or 7 groups from that age group visit your site.
Middle Support Team
Incoming 6-8th graders have the opportunity to put their faith into action serving as guides, skit team members and helping at the various stations. Team members need to come in for a three hour workday (these are offered beginning at Spring Break and up through the second week of June) and an orientation session. The dates and times are on the information letter that is attached to the application form. During the afternoons the team stays for a group reflection time on the theme and various activities (ice skating, swimming and more). Download the application form and information form from the DOCUMENTS section to the rightt. Please turn the application form by May 24th.
High School Team
Incoming 9-12th graders work with our adults at the stations and assist in presenting the themes. They also come in for one of the three hour workdays This year we will also include some afternoon activities for thos who can stay.
