The Divine Mercy of Jesus Cenacle group at Sts. Peter & Paul Parish has petitioned and were granted a First Class relic of St. Sister Maria Faustina Kowalski, the Saint of Divine Mercy by her order of Sisters in Poland, the Sisters of Mercy. This relic will be formally encased in a glass case in our adoration chapel. The Cenacle of Divine Mercy at Sts. Peter and Paul is donating the relic to our parish so all may come and venerate and worship to Jesus for our individual petitions, for His Divine Mercy. This installation will be done at noon on October 5, 2013, St. Faustina’s Feast Day. The Sisters of Mercy have asked all Parishioners to pray during the month of September prior to the arrival of the relic. The sisters also have requested that a Novena be said for nine days prior to her Feast day which would start on September 27, 2013 and continue daily until October 5, 2013. The novena prayer is printed below. All parishioners are invited to Benediction and Blessing of the relic in the church, as well as veneration of the relic and installation in the chapel at noon on October 5, 2013. For those that do not know, a First Class Relic is part of a bone from the Saint and thousands of cures and petitions have been granted to those who venerate the relic and offer prayer and petitions.
Prayer for the Intercession of St. Faustina
Saint Faustina, You told us that your mission would continue after your death and that you would not forget us. (Diary 281, 1582)
Our lord also granted you a great privilege, telling you to “Distribute graces as you will, to whom you will, and when you will” (31)
Relying on this, I ask your intercession for the graces I need, especially
(Here make your intention)
Help me, above all, to trust in Jesus as you did and thus to glorify His Mercy every moment of my life. Amen.
