Two Spouses, One Heart: The Goal of the “Together with Jesus Couple Prayer Series”
If you are looking for the perfect Valentine gift to bless your sweetheart; one that will help you connect with each other and is a priceless investment, yet costs nothing but your time, consider attending six “Date Nights” to help you and your mate grow safely and surely into a deeper love-relationship.
Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Braunfels will offer engaged and married couples from their parish and other area churches an opportunity to participate in a remarkably effective and proven six-week marriage enrichment program called the “Together with Jesus Couple Prayer Series.” The series will begin Wed., Feb. 23rd from 7 to 9 p.m.
The “Together with Jesus Couple Prayer Series” was developed by a former Director of Detroit’s Archdiocesan Family Life Office and his wife in 2002 in response to discovering that very few Catholic couples or other Christian couples pray together on anything resembling a regular basis. It has
already helped thousands of Christian couples in the U.S. and Canada as well as in Europe, Africa, and Australia and Europe learn how to effectively and regularly pray together. Sts. Peter and Paul’s will offer the series for the first time and has invited 30 other area churches to send representatives to participate.
National statistics show that, for couples who pray together daily and go to church regularly, divorces are practically non-existent. Studies also tell us that the more often couples pray together, the greater their chances are of enjoying a happy and healthy life-long marriage. Praying together is not something most husbands and wives find easy to do. But the “Together with Jesus Couple Prayer Series” has proven to positively impact families by teaching couples simple, non-threatening and solid ways to learn how to faithfully pray together, even on a daily basis.
The six-week program comes highly recommended by Kensington Community Church’s Evangelism Director Karen Smith who says, “This series is Jesus-centered and biblically-solid in every respect, it is marriage-building, faith-building and an altogether remarkable blessing to couples.” It is hoped that the “Together with Jesus Couple Prayer Series” will open doors of new grace and real-life help to all the couples who attend; whether they are newly engaged or have been married for more than 50 years.
