Jan de Chambrier, Guest Speaker at Sts. Peter and Paul and Co-author of Glimpses: Two Stories of Hope and Healing and Father Sam Heitkamp’s
Explanation of the Sacrament of Anointing the Sick Now On Line to Share
Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Braunfels recently welcomed guests from 14 other area churches to an ecumenical gathering of hope and healing. Cancer Survivor, hospital chaplain, and member of The Woodlands Untied Methodist Church, Jan de Chambrier, delivered an inspiring message entitled, “Celebrating Life: On Earth as It Is In Heaven” on April 21st, the birthday of her friend and co-author, Carrie Olivier. Carrie would have been 53.
A Community Healing Prayer Service of hope immediately followed. Rev. Kay Scott, Executive Director of the Family Life Center at the Tree of Life Church and Rev. Chuck Huckaby, Minister of Congregational Life at First Protestant Church, along with other intercessors led individuals in one-on-one healing prayer.
Father Sam Heitkamp administered the Sacrament of Anointing the Sick and shared how God had chosen to miraculously heal certain individuals he had anointed.
The members of St. Peregrine’s Cancer Support Ministry who hosted the ecumenical gathering along with intercessors from New Braunfels and across the country prayed for months for God’s anointing upon every aspect of this community outreach. They hope hundreds of cancer support ministries and many others who were too ill or unable to attend will be blessed by the video. Click here to view the video of this session.
