We are located just two blocks from the downtown plaza in New Braunfels, Texas, and we currently have 5900 registered families in our parish.
Our weekend Masses are celebrated on Saturdays at 5:00 PM and Sundays at 7:30 AM, 9:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:30 PM (Spanish), and 5:30 PM. Weekday Masses are Monday-Friday at 8:00 AM and 12:10 PM.
We offer a variety of prayer, service, and faith building opportunities each week. Be sure to visit the links for more information.
Our pastor, Fr. Steven Gamez, our parochial vicars, Fr. Annand Yellanki, and our entire staff hope this tour gives you a feel for our parish. We look forward to meeting you soon!
Traveling northwest on Seguin Street toward Landa Park, our Thrift Store greets passersby at the corner of Bridge Street and Seguin Street. The Thrift Store is staffed by volunteer parishioners and is open Wednesday-Friday and 2nd & 4th Saturday mornings.
Last year, the Thrift Store was able to contribute over $130,000 to the parish school's budget.
For more information about hours or to volunteer, please call 830-629-3504.
Turning southwest onto Bridge Street you will see our church steeple rise above Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School and playground.
Our parish school offers a quality Catholic education for over 375 Pre-K3 through 8th grade students. For more information about the school, please contact our principal, at ext. 205 or visit the school section of our website.
Youth from our high school youth ministry and preschool through 5th grader religious education students meet in the classrooms in the school building and in the St. Joseph Center. Our youth minister Brenda Gualandri (ext 242) works with over 450 youth in a variety of programs such as religious education classes, confirmation preparation, retreats, service projects, liturgies, and more. Sister Sheeja, Director of Faith Formation ( ext. 216) and Mary Kravec, Religious Education Coordinator (ext. 275), work with over 650 youth in preschool through 5th grade and approximately 50 adults in RCIA, Bible studies and other programs.
The parish has gathered in worship on these grounds since 1845. A black walnut church was dedicated in 1849. By 1881, a stone church had replaced it and expansions in 1963 and 2000 brought us to the current church with the attached Parish Center.
On the first floor, the Parish Center contains our Adoration Chapel, St. Mary's Hall, and Family Room. The parish reception office is located on the first floor off the main hallway. The elevator and stairs to the second-floor offices and classrooms are located right outside of St. Mary's Hall.
Upstairs you will find the parish offices, church library, choir room, and several conference rooms and classrooms. Many adult groups such as RCIA, Bible studies, ACTS, etc., and the high school and middle school youth use these facilities as well.
The St. Joseph Center and the Good Shepherd Center serve as multipurpose use facilities for the entire parish. They provide classroom, meeting and resource areas and serve as a meeting hall and cafeteria for the school children and youth of the parish. Ministries and community organizations also meet in the St. Joseph Center.
To the right of the church is the rectory where our priests reside.
The gathering areas are located between the church and Adoration Chapel and right outside of St. Mary's Hall.
Our Archives group shares an exhibit in the display case each month. Information on current activities and pictures from various parish groups are displayed in the other side of the case. The gathering areas are also where many bake sales, fundraisers and other like activities are held following Masses.
nearly 100 years, the Grotto has been a quiet place for prayer and reflection.
The Circle of Mary gathers here to pray the rosary every Thursday evening. Parishioners will often stop by the Grotto in search of a peaceful and prayerful environment.
St. Mary's Hall is located next to the gathering area. The hall provides the perfect setting for weddings, anniversaries and other large receptions or gatherings with a seating capacity of 400 people. This hall is used for many parish functions including youth ministry meals and gatherings.
The celebration of the Eucharist is the most important activity we do in our parish. Over 4,000 parishioners gather for Sunday services each week and daily Mass attendance averages over 200 people.
The Family Room is located next to the gathering area. Small parish gatherings such as baptism preparation classes, day retreats, prayer breakfasts, Bible study groups, and more are held here.
Our Perpetual Adoration Chapel is located in the Parish Center across from the Family Room and right next door to the Nursery/Bride's Room. Everyone is welcome to pray before the Blessed Sacrament. One may also sign up for an hourly shift by emailing adoration@sppnb.org.
